"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!"

So, it's been a very busy month. At least it's my favorite time of year- when the air cools and the leaves start to change. My birthday was on the 22nd and we celebrated with a little family dinner at my parents house on the 21st.

That's Kim with Gwen, Madison holding Talmage, me, and Conlan.

Gwen also went to her first playdate- which was interesting... The other 10 month old, Kelan, seemed to have the same idea she did, and after acknowledging each other, they pretty much played by themselves. Hopefully, it will go better next time when she's a little older. :)

Last week we took Gwen to pick out pumpkins, which was a lot of fun. She wanted to touch everything and couldn't stop looking at all of the people walking in and out of the patch. We finally carved our pumpkins (and a watermelon) tonight for FHE, so I'll have pictures of those next time. :)

Look at that toothy grin!

What a cutie (if I do say so myself)!

Prematurity Awareness Month

This is a little early, but November is Prematurity Awareness Month (and no pun is intended, as my husband pointed out). I've mentioned before that I was 6 weeks premature, and back then, that was a big deal. I'm so glad that the hospitals had the resources they needed to keep me healthy during my stay in the hospital. I support the March of Dimes and their efforts to raise awareness to prevent premature births and to care for preemies. I just wanted to pass along this information that's close to my heart. Here's the link: http://www.marchofdimes.com/prematurity/prematurity.asp Just take a look and support them if you can. :)

Testing, testing...

So, I'm going to attempt to write an actual blog, and not just post pictures with captions, but don't get too used to it, just in case... :) Gwen is all over the place! She's crawling all over the house, pulling up and "cruising" around the furniture. It's definitely time for me to find another baby gate (that is if they make one wide enough for the entrance to our living room). She's "talking" more, saying ma-ma and da-da all the time. She's also making a "psst" sound and whispering which is just funny.

She's definitely keeping me busy! I feel like I'm running laps in my own house! Gwen loves music and dances whenever she hears it- I'm attempting to record her, so as soon as I do, I'll post it. :) She's starting to make her opinions known and throwing little temper tantrums ocassionally (which is almost funny- for now). She's also in love with teddy bears, and likes to chew on their noses.... Lately Gwen's had a bad cold, though, and late night coughs have not been fun. Luckily, the doctor called in some medicine for her today, so hopefully that will help.

Otherwise, Beau and I are doing well and staying busy. It's finally cooling off a little around here, although even as I say that I believe it's back up to the 90's next week. Oh, well. Hopefully it won't last long and we can get some fall weather that will stick around. That's all for now- I'll try again later. :)
